The Vicinity Marketing story so far
We help businesses and location-based brands grow with online marketing, search engine optimisation, social advertising & practical lead generation strategies.
Vicinity Marketing was created in 2014 by our founder Dave Eddy (initially trading as Dave Eddy Digital). After 7 years working for two of Australia’s largest SME marketing firms, Dave decided it was time to bring something different to the market. With technology advancing at such a rapid pace, he saw a huge need for a more flexible, consultative approach to online marketing & advertising.
Our Mission is to help clients attract & retain more than their fair share of local customers.
We are huge believers in the power of great branding & the user experience side of marketing. However, we prefer to focus on the type of marketing our clients tell us they need most – Measurable lead generation. Marketing & advertising that gets your phone ringing and converts digital media into local customers. That’s what we’re best at, so that’s what we focus on.
Types of businesses and brands we work with
1. Small to Medium sized Businesses
Our clients in this segment are typically turning over between $1m – $20m in annual revenue and have at least 5 staff. These are generally companies who don’t quite need an in-house marketing manager, so instead they hire us as their digital marketing managers.
Our SMB clients typically operate in industries such as:

- Trades, construction and home services
- Healthcare and medical services
- Automotive services
- Industrial and manufacturing
- Travel and leisure services
- Speciality services
- Some forms of retail
- Business & Technology services
- Peer-to-peer marketplace businesses
2. Larger companies, corporate brands or franchises with multiple locations
We love working with SMBs but we also work with some larger clients like airports, shopping centres and one of Australia’s largest health care chains.
Maybe your brand’s marketing has traditionally been handled on a National level but your multiple stores, offices or clinics have been finding it tough to compete against local competitors. You may need to adopt a more specialised, location-based strategy on search engines, social networks etc. We can work with your internal marketing team to help make this happen.

These businesses trust us to help add value to their clients businesses with the power of digital marketing. Businesses we’re not a fit for
Apart from knowing who we’re here to serve, we reckon it’s also important to be aware of our weaknesses instead of bringing a “One size fits all” model to the market.

Purely Ecommerce businesses, restaurants & cafes, some kinds of retail businesses, events companies, banks & financial institutions, internationally focussed companies & small businesses turning over less than $500,000pa.
